Get to Know Me

I have worked in the nonprofit sector for over a decade, including opening and stewarding the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County. At the Museum, I led the Programs Department from inception to a high-functioning team creating successful programs. I transitioned over to Marketing 5 years ago. Major experience includes: project management, planning, development, strategizing, budgeting, and marketing. 

My passion is community outreach and engagement. I firmly believe that awareness, education, and collaboration can lead to a happy and healthy community for everyone.

Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, Santa Rosa, CA                       2020 – 2021
Marketing & Communications Specialist

Oversee copy writing and editing brochures, newsletters, emails, and promotional materials to ensure zero discrepancies. Developing and executing marketing campaigns to improve brand awareness and recognition. Drafted copy and proof of all communications materials to mitigate loopholes.

  • Implemented project management planning and tracking tool within time constraints without losing items in shuffle.
  • Created successful grass-roots social media campaign to raise awareness of LBC’s annual fundraiser.

Acted as in-house point person and lead on PR / marketing, while adhering to rules and regulations. Oversaw marketing calendars, campaigns, and social media, and maintained website to achieve desired results. Led project for recent website redesign for cohesive brand identity. Provided continuous oversight and strategic planning of programs department team and program offerings to regulate future action plan. Provided facilitation in grant writing, fundraising, and event planning to generate new marketing opportunities. Optimized Museum’s marketing strategic plan, calendar and advertising through marketing. Managed redesigning of collateral materials and Children’s Museum newest website. Created marketing systems to streamline marketing operations.

  • Increased staff from five to forty employees within four years for organizational restructuring as Children’s Museum continued to grow.
  • Streamlined Children’s Museum’s multiple marketing channels, including social media, newsletter marketing, and digital advertising, resulting in increasing newsletter open rate from eight to twenty-five percent.

Director of Programs                                                                           2013 – 2018

Devised strategic plan and budget for programs, such as drop-in programs, camps, workshops, birthday parties, and events, while aligning with organizational goals and objectives. Managed team of twelve employees year-round, and up to twenty during summer to streamline operations. Aided in upkeep of Museum website, program calendars, and social media to ensure seamless workflow. Created and deployed organizational systems for purpose of staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, budget tracking, safety, cleaning, and maintenance.

  • Built innovative camps program; grew base to double from original in size and later on sold out on regular basis.
  • Developed and executed on / off-site museum programming to generate revenue and develop new generation of devoted supporters.
  • Designed signage by utilizing InDesign and Photoshop and created Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) and training documents.
  • Created all-new programming for a brand-new organization, including popular summer camps that sold out year after year.
  • Restructured organization to allow for growth and administered multiple departments / teams simultaneously to ensure seamless workflow.

Intern | Contractor, Department of Education: Teacher, School and Family Programs at National Gallery of Art

  • Started as part of National Gallery of Arts Paid Summer Internship Program, assisted with development and implementation of National Gallery of Art’s School Programs for students in grades 4 through 12, at completion of internship, asked to stay on as contractor through end of summer.
